Hate such a strong word

This graph just goes to show you how an increase of fear can influence violence.Has the graph shows through the years there have been few hate crimes against the Islamic race. Then came September 9th 2001 when is was believed that Islamic terrorist hijacked an airline and drove it into the twin towers killing hundreds and injuring thousands.Now this tension increased the fear of this race tremendously and now everyone who is or was associated with that group is looked upon to have to same motive.Thus creating fear among the common folk which leads to racial profiling and unnecessary violence in other words hate crimes.So for that year of 2001 hate crime for the Islamic race was at an all time high.Following the years after it had a steady decrease but never back to how low has it used to be.So the graph depicts the change of increase and decrease in hate rather well I would say this is the world we live now.We fear the unknown .Such has in Zeitoun when he was arrested, the officer or military personnel at the time asked for his I.D.Zeitoun handed it over and because of how he had looked he didn't bother to look at it he just took it away has a means of him not having identification .In other words a hate crime ,I do not care that you are out here helping people doing my job you look like a terrorist so I'm going to treat you like one.Perfect example of a hate crime and with out I.D Zeitoun is ceseptable to any type of treatment they saw fit. In other words cruel and unusual punishment.They fear of the unknown is mans greates Phobia.

Zeitoun Double Quote Hero

Zeitoun hero or Coward ??? 

Zeitoun the story of a man who had done great things at a price. It is argued constantly whether or not he was a hero or a coward trying to avoid deeper problems.I do believe Zeitoun was a hero. in my opinion though I would argue that ,Zeitoun was a hero of circumstance. A hero of circumstance is a person whose actions in a certain situation go above and beyond the norm and this only happens because said person decides that he/or she has nothing elese more important to take care of so in the meantime he/she diverts thier energy and resoucres to helping out others. Altough he had a lot of supposed reasons and excuses to why he chose to stay behind and not leave with his family. A little background behind this Zeitoun is a hard working individual from syria who comes to america and ends up being successful with his business ventures, has he owns his own painting industry and multiple properties with 6-18 different tenants.Now there is a category 5 level hurricane on the way and most civilians  and residents in the area that can flea and evacuate do so. "Honey,I think we should go" this is zeitoun s wife suggesting that they should also flea,but,Zeitoun he has worked so hard to make his dreams come to fruition that he decides he is going to stay to try and protect his business, and he has his family flea  {50-51}. This is where Zeitoun begins his questionable cicrcumstational Heroism. The hurricane comes through and the streets are flooded, people are stranded buildings have capsized. Everything is in dismay and on top of that you have different types of millitary and police personnel areesting people and taking ithem away.In the midst of all this chaos here is Zeitoun realizing that he migh have made a mistake in stayin since mostly everything around him  is destroyed. With no family or friends he begins somewhat of a crusade where he goes out in search of fellow survivors.He constantly performs this action and brings them back to his building where he provides food shelter at the bare minimum level that he can.This is why I say he is acircumstational hero,becaause he only began to do what he did given the circumstances he was in, and at times he felt like giving up.I beleive if Zeitoun family had decided to stay with him his biggest concern would have been forget everybodyelses let me take care of my family. Thus making him a circumstational hero,in y opinion. It does make a reference to thier family pride and reminsecne of his dead brothers memory,"Be strong,Be brave,Be true, Endure." Were some of the famous words from his brother momahed.

Zeitoun

Zeitoun could've cared less about the category hurricane he stayed behind to try and protect his business. Helping people in the process was just him being a Good Samaritan in his brothers name. Zeitoun and his wife are having an argument about wether or not to flee but he chose to stay behind(50-51).he decided that protecting his business would be more important in the end than being the man of the household and being with his family.He must if taught protecting the business would've been protecting his family but in all honesty what could he have done against a category 5 hurricane. He just wanted to be there to see if his hard work went bye bye to be there to say the final goodbyes.He didn't really honestly think he could've been able to protect a whole entire business by himself.

The Positive/Negative of today's Government on climate change

    New York response in hurricane sandy was quick and well informed and got out to the public quickly,but what they failed and I believe dropped the ball is they id not use every resource the had possible to help protect their citizens,but has soon as it passes though we have large companies buying up land and building malls and shopping centers and the selling of the victims homes at low prices as seen here in  http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/10/hurricane-sandy-home-prices_n_2848720.html .It seems they see natural disasters has business ventures now. In the shock doctrine Naomi Klein's speaks of the Deadlock ,"the combination of a broke government and needy people will provide just the catalyst needed to break the deadlock",   this refers to how our government in times of need decide to overlook and bend the rules a little to their pleasing.There should be no reason why a sandy victim should till this day be homeless or living in a shelter.People come all over the world to the united states because of our security and we our "the land of opportunity." Since we have such a reputation we owe to the citizens that come here to do a better job when it comes to protecting them from natural disasters.The after response of sandy was disappointing it was simply not good enough,they did what they had to do to look good in the public eye and afterwards used their power to shove them to the side and we are seeing this everyday. People forcibly put down in businesses due to their lack of power and resources the government breaches the deadlock nowadays any which way they can.Its a shame how the world operates nowadays.

In the New york times there is an article that talks about the water portion of the global warming factor,showing how under prepared we are based on our mentality towards the situation. This is a true factor in my opinion because to be prepared for globalwarming and in its entiretity  people they get up and act as we see through history and take initative through thier actions and stop waiting for the government  .In the New York times article Seas and Risk Rise Mierya Navarro interviews and writes and touches base on different aspects of sea level increase

  one speaker in the article interviewed by Mierya Navarro is and  Douglas Hill says a key point   that “They lack a sense of urgency about this,” but he refers to city officials{Navarro} . I personally believe the blame should be put elsewhere on the people not the officials
in other words he is trying to say that officials  are very lackadaisical  but I'm saying its us we as people need to be more aware on  this situation and that we need to have more of a notion to care.I agree with Douglas Hill's point its not the officials; We need to start caring because no matter how much the government does its up to us to make the change we the people have has its stated in the united states constitution "We the people" just like back in the days of slavery it was people who decided enough is enough and its time to take action. Similar to our global warming situation until Americans get the notion to want to make change we will never be truly prepared for climate change.

First Draft Peer review 

Today was our peer review on our paper to the mayor on climate change and my classmates Tanya and Tiffany they both liked my paper on the summarizing and both said its very strong and i make a good point. they both say i should use more referrals to the book .Tanya showed me that i should use more direct quotes fact being i do not have any. Tiffany on the other must've spent i good 25-30 Min's exposing all my grammatical errors in my paper i didn't think there was a lot but boy did she find plenty.They were both very helpful in editing my paper,and i feel I'm on the right path to writing an A paper which I'm hoping to get because its English i have always gotten As.

Battle of the Graphs Temperature VS Time

Greetings to all my fellow classmates and bloggers alike. my name is Allen and I am a student in professor Roger Coppers English 101 class,and ill will be comparing explaining and integrating the similarities and differences between two graphs on the world Global temperature downfall from the Literary work The climate casino risk and uncertainties by William Nordhous.


   On page 39 In the literary work the climate casino by William Nordhous there is a graph there listed that shows the atmospheric concentration of Carbon dioxide gas measured at the Mauna Lao observatory in Hawaii between the years of 1958 -2012. This graph shows a gradually increase by parts per million of at least 15 for every 10 years.Which means has the years go on us has Americans tend to depend more and more on carbon based materials. This dependance is only hurting us in the long run .

      In conjunction to the graph that provides detailusage and dependancy of carbon based material we also have a graph listed on page 46  figure 8 which shows us the general temperature trend from 1850-2012 This is where you can see how the more we use carbon based materials the more it starts to affect our world this graph depicts an over  the course of time ..............
